| | LINCOLN CONTINENTAL COUPE (1975) CAR HISTORYCar review on LINCOLN CONTINENTAL COUPEFeaturing every idea that improved luxury, the Lincoln Continental of 1975 was ruly a masterpiece in high-class motoring. The chassis was separate in order to best insulate the cabin from road noise, and the springs and shocks were suitably soft to cushion the ride. The 9-inch (229 mm) live axle was located by trailing arms, a torque arm and a transverse link to ensure good stability despite the wallowing ride, and 11.8-inch (300 mm) vented discs were fitted at the front with optional anti-lock drums at the rear to stop the heavyweight. Externally, the styling remained conservative with classy lines, hidden headlights behind vacuum-operated panels, plus covered rear arches to emphasize the long and low appearance. Inside there was power everything and deep button velour bench seats, plus walnut veneer trim. An auxiliary fuel tank allowed an extra 100 miles (160 km) of motoring
