which was first launched 1990, had ultra-smooth styling and lent itself
well to customizing. Being a practical car, too, and coming with a V8
as standard meant it soon got the attention of hot rodders. Station-wagon
versions often got used as aftermarket manufacturers' show vehicles come
parts haulers, and this is one has been built along those lines but has
gone a step forward and backward at the same time. This Caprice features
styling touches from a 1957 Chevy Nomad, including the rear three-quarter
panels and tail lights, side trim, hood spears and a classic set of polished
American Racing Torque-Thrust rims on 275/50 Pirelli tyres. The interior
continues on a 1950s theme with red and white tuck 'n' roll, but has rearward-facing
back seats to best utilize the huge rear space. Power comes from Throttle
Body fuel-injected small-block Chevy V8.
